| Gene Harris was one of our first Hyosung sportbike customers. He purchased our first 2007 GT250R (inset above). I took our first GT250R pictures with his bike when it came in and put those pictures in the GT250R video on the NuMotorcycle page. With his bike, Gene proved a lot of things to us at MPG Motors. He wanted to ride and wasn't concerned about things others often question. Questions such as, "Is the Hyosung GT250R fast"? Gene likes to go fast and has had that 250 at Vmax more than once - at least that is what his GSX-R riding friend told me. "Can you travel on the GT250R?" Gene can. He rode it regularly from near Lancaster to see friends in Manhattan and spent a lot of time on Rt. 78 and the turnpike. "Will the GT250R hold up?" From the summer to October, he put 3,700 miles on that bike and it always looked like it just rolled out of the showroom. Like I said, Gene rides. He didn't just use his 250R to go to the mall, he put some time in the saddle. Until... Until he answered the next question we often get, "Yeah, but what about resale on a Hyosung?" Without all the details, Gene was happy with the trade-in value and we were happy to get his bike and it sat on our floor for almost a week in November before it was sold again - answering yet another question - "Is there a market for used Hyosung bikes?" Yep. Gene traded up to the Hyosung GT650R shown above. He got it in late October - and now it's got 1,400 miles on it. He was just in for the service and we checked it all out for him. I kinda wanted to hang onto it. It was a fun bike to test ride - running strong with that characteristic V-Twin grunt and growl, clicking through the six-speed and letting it sing a bit. But Gene wanted it back ... to go ride! We took a picture before he drove off. Gene is a customer, actually a repeat customer, actually a great, repeat customer but more importantly he's a friend and a guy that uses our products like they can and should be used. Mike and I just say, "Thanks Gene, enjoy the ride!" Pat Yearick |
